This is one of my favorite rooms. It's warm and inviting, set up for both conversations and TV viewing. It's gone through quite a transformation. The original mantel was just a stucco rectangle. I made the wood mantel from inexpensive wood trim and boards and attached them directly over the original stucco rectangle. The focal point carpet hung over the mantle was a design necessity when our Labrador retriever decided it made a nice bed when it was on the floor. The custom made cushion on the hearth added more seating on a previously wasted space.

Updates to this kitchen include new light fixtures, paint and boarder that accented the Chinese blue and white dishes. A new inexpensive table and chairs along with a vase of live bamboo completed this room.
This master bedroom has extremely high vaulted ceilings. Using a canopy over the bed highlighted this feature along with filling the vertical space over the bed. Positioning the armoire in the corner on a diagonal opened the room up from it's previous position directly opposite the bed. Purple floral valances were removed from the windows and replaced with an amber silk swag. A mirror and amber sconces decorate the wall opposite the bed adding interest and mood lighting. A glider chair with baby blue cushions was covered with a custom made sage slip cover and now looks like it was meant for the room along with a matching foot stool made from scratch. New bed covers and table lamps finish this room.
