Basement Wall Before
Basement Wall After
The Problem:  This framed poster really didn't add
much interest and the pastel pink colors were not
right for this finished basement.
The Fix:  Replace the poster with four cloth covered
panels.  These panels repeat the colors used on
pillows in the basement and add tons of visual
interest.  Additionally the panels can also be used as
a very attractive way to display children's art work.
Entry Way Before
Entry Way After
The Problem:  This entry way had a huge wall of  white
blank space, making it feel very sterile.
The Fix:  This inexpensive tapestry hung on a curtain
rod with ring clips adds a dramatic and elegant effect.
It highlights the size of the entry while adding color and
warmth.
Bed Before
Bed After
The Problem:  This bed had no headboard.
The Fix:  I made an upholstered headboard to match
the colors in the picture above the bed.  Materials used
included 3/4" plywood, 2 x 4 board, 1" foam, batting,
and fabric.
The Problem:  The piano as well as end tables held
too many photos which made the surfaces look
cluttered.  Also, the  picture hung over the piano was
too small for the wall, again leading to a cramped look.
The Fix:  By hanging picture ledges to utilize the wall
space most of the photos could placed on these
ledges.  This uncluttered the piano and end tables and
made the room feel more open.
