The Problem:  This home office closet wasn't working.
Over flow clothing from other rooms was being stored
here along with old toys, household records, and an
assortment of other items forming a rather precarious
tower.
The Fix:  Shelves. Shelves. Shelves. The over flow
clothing actually was placed here because the client
didn't wear them anymore. By donating these items
the entire closet could be used for shelving.  The
shelving allowed for sorted items to find a home in
clear plastic bins with labels.  Now for example, when
the client needs to send a greeting card she can easily
find her previously purchased stash instead of
re-buying a card.  And conversely when she buys more
cards she has a place to put them.
The Problem:  This hall/linen closet really had no place
to put linens, paper products, and other household
items.
The Fix:   Shelves. Shelves. Shelves.   By doubling up
the hanging space we were able to shorten it to 1/3
the original length,  thus allowing for 2/3 of the closet
to be used for shelving.  A much better use of the
space.  In addition, since closet space was at a
premium, out of season coats were stored in a
vacuum space bags under the bed.

The Problem:  This entry closet is packed full of coats.
The one garment pole is too high for the children to
hang their own coats and the shoe cubby is difficult to
use, (is not being used).
The Solution:  This inexpensive ($39.00) closet
organizer from Target maximizes the available
space.  The garment hanging space went from 4 ft to
6 ft as did the shelf space.  Now the kids can easily
hang up their own coats.  In addition utilizing shoe
bins for each family member works better than the
shoe cubby.
This closet is now easily and neatly stores all the
necessary coats and shoes.
The Problem:  This client's children had to hang their
coats in the garage because they could not reach the
high garment rod.
The Solution:  An inexpensive ($59.00) closet organizer
from Target increased the usable shelving space from
4.5 ft to 10 ft while still slightly increasing the hanging
space from 4.5 to 5 ft.  The lower garment rod makes it
easy for the kids to hang their own coats.
The Problem:  This client needed more shelf space
and less garment space.
The Solution:  By replace two garment rods with
shelving I was able to clear the floor of both luggage an
shoes.
