Breathing Room

The Problem:  In this small kitchen counter space is at premium.  This portable dishwasher nick-named the tank, became a catch all instead of adding needed work space.

The Fix:  Adding shelves above the dishwasher gave the client a place to store all the items that were cluttering the counter and dishwasher top.  The result: more work
surface in addition to an attractive display area.

The Problem:  This cupboard only opened on one side.  The cupboard extended two more feet to the right but those items were inaccessible to the client

The fix:  Installing a pull out drawer and an 18" diameter lazy susan was an inexpensive fix to provide optimal access in this difficult cupboard.  Now everything is within easy reach while still taking advantage of the available space.

The Problem:  Difficult corner cabinet has large storage area but the opening is small.   Retrieving items from this cabinet was a cumbersome process.

The Fix:  Utilizing size appropriate lazy susans for each shelf greatly increased the usability and accessibility of this cabinet.

The Problem:  Items on these shallow pull out drawers were always falling off.

The Fix:  An easy solution was to insert baskets to contain these items.  In addition, I moved items the client's young children were likely to use to these child accessible cabinets instead of there previous location which required an adult to retrieve them.  This will help the children to become more independent with regard to getting their own snacks and drinks.
